Year in Review June 2011

June was a very busy month of events, and projects and squeezing in a few clients as well. It started out with Ashley freshly back from a hair competition where she was a model. SO who couldn’t have some fun downtown with wild purple hair, I know we had fun.

Picked up a new background and decided to shoot the boys with it.

Up next is some behind the scenes shots from the first of the SPCA Shelter Bombshells shoot, with Charity doing makeup on the beautiful Kayla and hair was done by Colleen Bromby of Hair Junkie.

Mid June brought me to The Relay for Life held by the Canadian Cancer society, where I was asked by some of the survivors who came out to my Breast Cancer Awareness Project to come down and document their day at this event. It is an emotionally charged and heartfelt event where I felt privileged to have the opportunity to share in the memories of the lives of friends and families who were lost.

From time to time and through courses I learn some new techniques and skills and I bring in a friend as a model to help me test this recently gained knowledge, here is a bit of one of the test shoots.

Time for another Photoclub meeting and I wrangled up some models once again and help lead instruction on using available to shoot people, Jordanna was the model for my group.

We had our second shoot this month for the SPCA Shelter Bombshell Calendar as well this time with the Beautiful Lindsay.

Up next was another test run doing Intimate Portraits in a clients home and just using the available light provided. The whole idea is where else would you be more comfortable to do an Intimate Portrait Session than your home. I think this idea has some merits and hope to do more of this in the future.

Did I mention this was a busy month? So the third SPCA Shelter Bombshell Calendar shoot was done at a nearby farm with a pair of beautiful and classic cars and this time our regular full time makeup artist was our model, and Angelina did great!

Finally to round out the month I headed down to Muskosipi park to capture some of the Canada Day Celebrations and mostly to capture a Peace Region Belly Dancer and fire performer.
